Your Questions, Answered

Our nonprofit was founded by skiers who witnessed the receding glaciers of the Rwenzoris. We use the "hook" of mountain adventure to fund and draw attention to the environmental crisis facing the communities at the base of these peaks. You don’t have to be a skier to join!
-
Yes, but it is "expedition skiing." You will hike to the Margherita Glacier. It requires carrying gear to 5,000m. It is a short, technical run, but a legendary "bucket list" item for any backcountry skier.
-
Yellow Fever: Mandatory for entry into Uganda. You must bring your yellow card.
Malaria: Highly recommended. For those doing the 23-day package or any trekking, we suggest a formal travel clinic consultation to discuss chemoprophylaxis (pills like Malarone or Doxycycline). While a malaria vaccine exists, it is currently prioritized for children; adults should rely on high-quality repellents and pills.
Fitness: The Margherita Peak trek is technical and strenuous. If you choose the 23-day package, a training regimen is required.

We strongly encourage it. It serves as our "Base Camp" in the city and is the only pickup/drop-off point for our private bus to the mountains. If you stay elsewhere, you’ll need to navigate Kampala traffic via taxi to reach the Speke by 8:00 AM on departure day.

You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.
