The momentum at Ski Club Uganda is picking up, and we're excited to share some of our biggest milestones yet! With a growing team, incredible support, and tangible progress on all fronts, things are moving at lightning speed. Here’s the latest scoop:

Big Milestones: Team Meeting & First Donor
Our First Team Meeting - We recently held our first team meeting, connecting over 10 people from the USA, Europe, Uganda, and Kenya. It was an exciting opportunity to align on our vision, get everyone on the same page, and set clear goals for the future. The presentation is attached, so feel free to take a look!
First Donor – Dr. Jotam PasipanodyaA huge thank you to Dr. Jotam Pasipanodya, a fellow at Vanderbilt Medical School, for becoming our first donor! His belief in our mission is invaluable, especially as he balances his own family commitments. Dr. Pasipanodya's support is a game-changer, and we are determined to honor his faith in us by delivering on our promise.
Progress Highlights
We’ve been busy building a strong foundation, and here are some key updates:
501(c)(3) Application: Morgan has been diving deep into the 501(c)(3) process, and we’re nearly done! A few final financial and legal questions remain before we submit. It’s been a research-intensive but rewarding journey.
Website Development: Ricky has been taking charge of our website, making incredible strides and even coming up with new ideas to boost our social media presence. We can hardly keep up with his creativity and initiative!
Networking in Europe: Pauli is making great connections in Europe. He has an upcoming networking event and a conversation with the former CFO at Head. Additionally, Pauli is organizing our photos and staying on top of projects while working to get our Wikipedia page published.
Middlebury College Partnership: Lukka is forging a partnership with Middlebury College. He secured another meeting, this time with the Dean of Sustainability & Environmentalism, which could lead to exciting opportunities like sending students to Uganda and attracting alumni funding.
Team Apparel: Klemen has proposed designing team apparel! He’ll be presenting options soon, and we’re excited to see what he has in mind for a professional, unified look.
Instagram Growth: Lucas has been instrumental in getting our Instagram up and running, helping us expand our presence and connect with a wider audience.
What’s Next?
Over the next 1-2 weeks, we’ll be focusing on finalizing the infrastructure and preparing for the next phase:
Launching the Official Website: We’re holding off on sharing our GoFundMe link until the website is up and running. Stay tuned for the official launch!
Submitting the 501(c)(3): We’ll be submitting our application soon, which will solidify our status as a non-profit organization.
Publishing the Wikipedia Page: Our Wikipedia page is on the way, thanks to Pauli's efforts!
We’ve been moving fast, but we’re not slowing down. The next steps will bring us closer to our tree nursery project with the help of Dr. Bob and the RTS team.
A Few Personal Updates
In the whirlwind of growth, I’ve been a bit slow to follow up on a few conversations. Here’s a quick note to those who are waiting to hear back:
Brody: We’ll get you those pictures and the ladder story soon.
Dr. Ivory: We’ve compiled all the findings from your species treasure hunt in an Excel sheet and are gathering the photos for you!
Nicole: I’ll be reaching out soon to update you on how everything went!
