As we pack for an exciting journey, there’s so much happening at Ski Club Uganda! We’ve been preparing extra gear to leave behind, thanks to the helpful tips from our amazing community members – Uli, Brody, and Sarah.
Speaking of community, we’re proud to share the incredible ‘missions’ that some of our members are working on:
Sarah Ivory & Caleb Norville are photographing plants and animals to build a more holistic ecological understanding of the Rwenzoris.
Nicole Dreon is working to involve women porters in the trip, empowering women in the region.
Brody Leven is uncovering the backstory and capturing images of the old ladders, which were once suspended where the glacier used to be.
Uli is generously donating gear to support the guides and porters.

But that’s not all! We have big news – Klemen Kosi, a professional ski racer, has reached out to become a brand ambassador for Ski Club Uganda! Klemen, who’s competed in World Cups and the Olympics, has also presented an exciting idea: Ski for Uganda at the 2026 Winter Olympics. We’ll be working with the Uganda Olympic Committee to explore this possibility while we’re in Kampala. We couldn’t be more excited to have Klemen on board!
In the meantime, our co-founder Morgan will continue working on the infrastructure of Ski Club Uganda, including applying for 501(c)(3) status and organizing our ongoing projects and conversations to share with new members. The interest and support we've been receiving lately are incredible!
Thank you for being part of this journey. We’re gearing up for an adventure of a lifetime. Stay tuned for updates – we may be out of touch for a bit, but we’ll do our best to send pictures and newsletters when we can.
Take care,Florian & Ski Club Uganda
