We are headed back to Uganda this June! - NL #20
Hello Everyone,
We’re thrilled to share major updates from the slopes, the field, and the planning table — all moving us forward in our mission to connect adventure, conservation, and community in the Rwenzori Mountains.
1. Join us this June 2026!
We’re excited to announce that the June 2026 expedition itinerary is finalized and ready! This year’s trip promises a blend of research, tree planting, community partnership, and, of course, unforgettable adventure amid the stunning Rwenzori highlands.
If you’ve ever dreamed of joining us on the mountain - now’s the time. Spots are open and sign-ups are officially live.
2. A New Pilot Course with Penn State
This June trip also marks a special milestone: it will serve as the pilot launch of a field course offered in collaboration with Penn State University.
We’re honored to be joined once again by Dr. Sarah Ivory (left), leading this effort with her colleague Ida Djentonin (right), Assistant Professor of Geography.
Together, they’ll guide students and participants in hands-on field research, environmental learning, and community engagement — creating transformative experiences on and off the trail.
3. Fundraising for Seedlings & Equipment
Our conservation work continues to grow, and so does the need for support. This year’s tree-planting project in June relies on fundraising for seedlings and essential equipment.
Reforestation is a core part of our stewardship mission, and every contribution, big or small, helps us restore biodiversity in the Rwenzoris.
4. Logistical Update & Call for Expertise
We’re proud to share that Ski Club Uganda has successfully completed our first full tax year as a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization! This milestone sets a strong foundation for sustainable growth and expanded impact.
As we continue to develop our administrative systems, we’re looking to connect with folks who have experience in nonprofit financial management. If that’s you or someone you know, please reach out — we’d love your support.
Thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm and generosity. Every email opened, every donation made, and every person who joins us moves us closer to our vision of adventure that protects and uplifts.
Stay tuned for more updates — we can’t wait to embark on this next chapter with you!
Cheers,
Morgan Long
